Introduction

Hello,

I would like to thank you taking interest to visit this site about this extensive renovation.

You can read and follow here the start, middle and hopefully the finish of a wonderful renovation of an old water mill in Belgium. It is situated the eastern part of Belgium and exists out of 2 buildings.

Renovation in general is not something to be taken lightly. The larger the project the bigger the headaches... sometimes. But then again building is not something for every one and I am expriencing this at the moment. Allthough I would not like to miss it for the world.

Now something more about the the project.

The first building is called the Bakery. One of the reasons why it is called like this is because the building contains an bread oven. The building in original state was existing out of 3 floors including the ground floor. The plan is to keep this setting.

The second, and main building, is the actual mill. In here grain was milled to get flour. Luckily this one is still in kind of working order. Although the wooden wheel needs to be restored as it is in a deplorable state. I am trying to find out more about the history of the mill and will publish bits and pieces about this in the near future.
